September and October are behind us and that means we are halfway through the -BER months.

As I write this it is Halloween Night and the trick or treaters have all come and gone; I had about 75 this year. Not too bad considering the weather was a bit cold. It was 45 degrees at the start, and 38 degrees when I finished handing out candy, brrrrrr!

Mazzie was a butterfly this year! She was smart and stayed in the house under the blankets during trick or treat. (I took this picture during the day when it was nice and sunny out.)

I was freezing when I came in so I made some hot cocoa using cinnamon bark vitality essential oil (I made a half-batch). It was easy to make and tastes so much better than opening up a packet and mixing it with water. Here is the recipe; give it a try and then let me know how you like it.

Hang on to that recipe; snow flurries are already in the weather forecast, and nothing beats a good cup of cocoa when you come in from the cold. And remember, I only trust the Young Living brand of essential oils, and they are the only essential oil company with a dedicated line of oils specifically labeled as dietary supplements. Never ingest or cook with oils you buy at TJ Maxx or Walgreens or Aldi, etc. And don’t miss my free class on cooking with essential oils, Thursday, November 2 at 5:30 and again Saturday, November 4 at 11:30.

Can I get a shout out for what I think is one of the best inventions of our time – heated car seats! I love how they get warm well before the regular car heater. Do you feel…like I do?

Looks like the common theme is I like to be warm and cozy. My idea of a perfect winter afternoon includes a good book, a hot beverage, Mazzie on my lap, a fuzzy blanket, and soothing oils in my diffuser*. Some of my favorites include Lavender, Orange, Frankincense, and of course Christmas Spirit. What are some of your favorite ways to cozy-up in the winter?

Stay oily!!
